„With extraordinary conceptual and expressive sensitivity, the artist Christin Behrend establishes herself as one of the most lyrical and incisive voices in contemporary art.

Her organic research, termed “Modern Symbolism Art”, explores the human condition by elevating the foundational themes of her poetics to a stylistic signature: light, darkness, hope, and the universal value of the symbol.

Her participation in the 2026 Venice Art Biennale rightfully consecrates her complex artistic journey. In the evocative setting of the National Pavilion of Guatemala, Behrend presents the work “La luce riluce nelle tenebre” (The light shines in the darkness), included in the ambitious project “Las Invisibles”.

This virtuous experience, linked to the SOY artistic group, features the funda-mental presence of art curator Stefania Pieralice, whose acute critical vision has masterfully accompanied and guided the entire exhibition framework.

An effective key to penetrating the artist’s language lies in the juxtaposition of “La luce riluce nelle tenebre” and the work “God.”. Although sharply distinct on a visual level. both works share the very essence of Modern Symbolism Art: the light that pierces and overcomes the darkness. If in “La luce riluce nelle tenebre” the highly syme alic as concentrated, te concentrated, in „God.” it transforms into a dynamic power that rises from the dark, exploding from within to tear open a gateway of transcendence.

I wish to extend my most sincere com-pliments to Christin Behrend for the strength with which she shapes her vi-sion: the message she delivers to us, supported by an extraordinary formal elegance, is a powerful hymn to human and spiritual resilience. Darkness is inevitably present in our existence, but it never has the final word. Light, in art as in life, always finds a way.“ – Flavio Ennante.
